Senior Life Solutions

Senior Life Solutions at Adair County Health System is an intensive outpatient group therapy program designed to meet the unique needs of individuals typically 65 and older who are experiencing depression or anxiety related to life changes that are often associated with aging.

Goal

Senior Life Solutions goal is to support our local older adults who are experiencing depression or anxiety by providing evidence-based care in order for them to live the healthiest and most productive lives possible.

Interventions/Services

Confidential, Comprehensive Assessment

Provided by a clinician from our program to help determine if individuals or their loved ones are eligible for the program.

Group Therapy

Participants meet up to three times per week in a supportive, encouraging group therapy setting. These sessions allow each participant to gain a greater understanding of themselves and have the opportunity to create relationships with other people who may be facing similar challenges. During group therapy, patients will engage in open conversation guided by a licensed therapist and learn new skills to support their mental health for the remainder of their lives.

Individual Therapy

Participants meet with our program licensed therapist who utilizes therapeutic services that focus on quality patient care and provision of services ordered by the physician.

Family Therapy

When needed, participants can meet with their family members and our licensed therapist, who will engage in open conversation, to help the patient and family learn skills to improve their relationships and mental health.

Medication Education & Management

Our registered nurse provides medication education to program participants and individualized medication management support to each person. Our psychiatrist will review the patient’s medications monthly and make any recommended changes.

Telehealth

Our teletherapy services are private, efficient and flexible. During group sessions, participants dial in on the phone or log in from a computer at the same time. Doing this allows them the opportunity to receive the benefits of our group and individual therapy from the comfort of their home.

After-Care Planning

After discharge from the program, we continue to engage and support participants through after-care planning. The planning includes phone calls, monthly after-care meetings and assessment for readmission to the program.

Staff

The program staff includes a board-certified psychiatrist, licensed therapists, a registered nurse and other professionals dedicated to the emotional well-being of the seniors in our community.
